About the Collective
The roots of the Sources Collective began in 2000, when Anthony (Drew) Schwickerath, John Barentine, and Kristi Schueler formed the band Sources Close to the President. After John moved and Kristi focused more on her own music, Drew was the only active member of the group. However, an idea was planted that would germinate for the next few years and finally make its appearance in 2004, with the formation of the Sources Collective.
Over the next few years, Drew began participating in more group artistic projects. 2004 saw his first film since his undergraduate days. It also saw him making connections with musician friends and participating in a small writing group. More of his friends were of a creative bent, and he began spending more time with this artistic circle of friends.
The Sources Collective was formed to provide a banner for his output that drew on the talents of those creative souls around him, as well as for his independent work. The output covers the gamet of creative expression.
About the Website
The Sources Collective website was launched in early 2005, a sparten affair with little content beyond the Sources Say blog. In September/October 2006, the current design was launched. It features the new Collective logo, based on our Kristi Schueler-designed liqueur labels. In fact, the whole website design was inspired by those labels.
The photos used in the design are all copyright 2006 Kristi Schueler, with a few exceptions. The raspberry used in the food icon is copyright 2005 Kristi Schueler.
The production slate used in the film icon is copyright Kerim Ergaz. The magnifying glass used in the archives icon is copyright Davide Guglielmo. The chain used in the links icon is copyright Ken Kiser. The chain of paper dolls used in the sources icon is copyright Brian S. These images were obtained from the Stock Exchange.
The logo and icon font is Soul Papa by Ray Larabie. Obviously logos like the Creative Commons 'cc' and WordPress 'W' are provided by and are trademarks of their respective owners.
The Sources Say blog and much of the remainder of this website is powered by WordPress. The Timely Releases podcast also relies upon PodPress.
