At long last, the Spandex Jellybeans website is live. I still need to set up a photo gallery, but everything else is up and working.

We also have a MySpace page. I know that I have mentioned this previously, but given the surprised noises our fans have been making when I mention it, it sounds like it can use reiterating. If nothing else you can check out our latest song, Doggie Cha Cha, which is only available on MySpace.

Now to get back to work.

Hiatis | Other Projects

As many of you already know, Spandex Jellybeans is taking a break until the summer. Jessica is in school again and Anthony is trying to finally finish up Maniac Art Pond’s debut album.

Things should heat up again this summer, when we finish up the new songs that we started working on back in January. Expect a new album and maybe even some live performances before the end of the year.

Other Kinds of Success

Well, our second Album-a-Day has come and gone and we were not victorious. We finished today with 7 songs and about 11 minutes finished. We had another 3 or 5 songs partially written but needing much more attention than we felt that we could give them in such a short period.

On the positive side, this session saw us branch out a bit, producing some more serious and more fully realized songs. And we are talking about continuing work on these and other new songs outside of the context of the Album-a-Day challenge. This is a major step for us as a band, since we have previously viewed ourselves as largely an Album-a-Day project.

In other band news, Kristi, an indispensable member of the Sources Collective family and provider of welcome support during these crazy songwriting weekends went out with us yesterday afternoon and took a bunch of promo photos of us. It was getting down towards the end of the day when she did and the lighting was not ideal, but she still did manage to get some nice shots. Again, this is exciting for us.

Well, now it is time for this jellybean to sleep.

Thus It Begins | And Begins Again

How better to start out the new year than with another Album-a-Day. Tomorrow evening, we will begin do exactly that and should have it posted by the end of the weekend. A second album means that we must surely be a real band rather than simply a dare or a joke.

In honor of this, we now have a MySpace page, as well as this new webpage. Now the pressure is on for us to not disappoint.
